One of the most famous resorts along the Costa del Sol, Torremolinos enjoys a stunning coastal location. Often nicknamed 'Torrie', Torremolinos features a magnificent shoreline, stretching for around 7 km / 4.5 miles, with many sandy beaches close to centre, offering the perfect place for sunbathing, swimming and water sports.

With an ongoing tourism boom since the 1960s, Torremolinos is known for its beachfront hotels, renovated old town area, and relatively new Paseo Maritimo, a long seafront promenade lining much of the seafront promenade. The resort is overflowing with restaurants and bars, and with such direct competition, any evening out in Torremolinos can often be extremely inexpensive.

The main pedestrian thoroughfare in Toremolinos is the Calle San Miguel, based in the central district, connecting the Plaza Costa del Sol and the Bajondillo Beach (Playa de Bajondillo). Other notable districts and regions of Torremolinos include the Paseo Maritimo district, known for its coastline, the Benalmadena Costa, home to the award-winning Puerto Marina, Arroyo de La Miel - a nearby village with many top tourist attractions, and the Torrequebrada area, offering a superb golf course and popular casino. With so much to offer, tourism is actively promoted all along the Costa del Sol, with the town's main tourism bureau being the Torremolinos Tourist Information Office on the Plaza Pablo Picasso. Here you will find a range of leaflets, together with information about where to stay, eat and visit.

The main tourist attractions in Torremolinos include the area's legendary nightlife - comprising many outstanding nightclubs and discos along the Avenida Palma de Mallorca, together with al fresco dining and bars; Tivoli World - one of the Costa del Sol's main theme parks, with thrilling roller coaster rides and plenty of side shows; the Torremolinos Sea Life Centre - home to a host of aquariums and colourful marine life, including large sharks and moray eels; and regular equestrian shows - horse riding demonstrations, displays and horse racing, appealing to many tourists visiting this part of the Costa del Sol.

Further top tourist attractions in the Torremolinos area include Selwo Marina - which is centred around the Benalmadena area and attracts large numbers of Torremolinos tourists, with plentiful waterfront eateries and boat hire; Aqualand - perfect for families and children, with water slides, a wave pool and a large lagoon; and Crocodile Park - home to over 300 crocodiles, in all sizes, together with a small zoo and gift shop.
